4140 Cold Rolled Annealed Round Bar

4140 is a widely used medium carbon steel. A general purpose alloy, offering the right combination of strength, toughness and hardness with good machinability. 4140 can be quenched and tempered to a broad range of strength levels.

 

4140 Cold Rolled Annealed Round Bar

Commonly used for gears, piston pins, crankshafts, and many other applications. Refered to as chromoly steel, due to the inclusion of .95% chromium and .20% molybdenum alloying elements. Not easily welded.
